We have been hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. So many beautiful sandy shores have been changed by this storm who's name, Sandy, is an oxymoron for the devastation she has caused.
I remember living in Maryland and living through Hurricane Isabel. She struck us at night, when it's terrifying dark and you can only hear the wind blow, not watch which way it is coming from or going. When we woke up, Isabel destroyed our power, trapped us with fallen trees and altered Maryland's western shore landscapes including Point Lookout, MD. One week of no power and explaining to my young children that we must "take baths as if we were living in the olden days without showers and by using a wash rag and basin/bowl." Kids are resilient and the good heart of men and women and children shined through the hard times as people stopped what they were doing to stop and help anyone in need. American's become self-LESS during times of need and we depend on each other and help more when the busy clock and rush-hours come to a stop after such a powerful storm.
Years later a tornado hits close to home in Indiana. Henryville was nearly demolished and ruined Henryville High School. Again, the unpredictable mind of the earth and skies opened up and showed residents its dark side. Yet again, people crawled out of their busy lifestyles and sacrificed their time, money and muscle power to help anyone in need, at any time.
Cheers and Hoorah's for people; for when we are too busy and too annoyed at the car slowing down during rush hour traffic, or annoyed by the long waiting line at the bus stop: it is in times of need, REAL need a love for the human spirit prevails.

Commercial caught eye, wrinkled look later
As you well know I'm big on ingredients. I was skimming the channels when I stumbled upon a Lancome commercial for their "new" Visionnaire claiming to combat wrinkles using "LR2412".
Sounds very similiar to Avon's A-F33 inside Avon's Anew Clinical Line Eraser Treatment.
However, the price point is different. Lancome offers it for $67 for .67 oz. on their website.
Avon offers the same break-thru technology of turning of collegen blocking for 1 oz. at $34.99 (campaign 22). Avon's Clinical Line Eraser Treatment: Get it before the sale ends!
Collegen is the "stuff" that layers the bounce and elasticity between our skin layers and muscle. Without collegen, our face sags, wrinkles are more prone to be permanent.

no more drama about MY lashes!
I'm skeptical when it comes to mascara because SOOOO much of what you buy is just crap (sorry to be so blunt, but being honest here)! You spend $40 on a department store brand and it looks good for a week then starts to fade. You hear and read reviews about the cheap drugstore brand who's been around for years and yet you use it an it clumps, fades, gets stuck in your contact lens or after an 8 hour work day you look like a racoon. It often makes me wonder who's advertising in these magazine and paying these writers and editors to claim the fame of these brands.
I'm here to tell you the honest truth. I wasn't going to buy Super Drama mascara from Avon but I did. I figured, hey I'm a rep, I can return it. After all, Avon has a 100% garauntee on your satisfaction, no questions asked which I ABSOLUTELY love (you can't get THAT at the Clinique, Estee Lauder, Rite Aid or Walgreens counter). And, even if you returned every mascara you HATED, with GAS prices the way they are it would cost you double just for the hassle. ANSWER: LET the AVON representative come to you, pick UP what you are unhappy with and deal with it.
Anyway, back to the product: I bought it, and love it, period. Not much more to say than that! :) I've never tried a mascara with a fan brush like this. It stays on all day, doesn't get in my contact lenses and doesn't fade into my eye sockets like a football player on crack! lol
Believe me if you want, don't believe me. Just being honest and THAT is a trait not too often found in this world. If there's something I've tried and don't like, you'll be sure to hear about it.

Naked, Nude, whatever
OK. I have started something I've never done: a video documenting anything; period. Afraid of ALL freakin' cameras I have set out a quest to document 30 days of Avon products whether I like it or not.
Today, I've started by removing the face of the public, removing my makeup and putting on the cream; GENICS by avon. Nice price, nice bottle. I hate, absolutely HATE the wrinkles on my forehead so PLEASE work!!
I absolutely DO LOVE the Avon eyeshadow quad and minerals foundation. NOT many sales rep's will be honest but I AM and I hope it's rewarded in the end.
Let the bad comments from YouTube begin. I'm NOT afraid of you!!

In Love Again
I'm VERY picky when it comes to some things; then again, I'm pretty calm and relaxed about other things. I'm sure everyone can relate. I'm SO very tired of lipsticks that make my lips sticky, make my lips peel, or just are not worth the drugstore $14 price tag or the department store $40 price tag; especially ones with NO guarantee.
I thought I'd give Avon's new Shine Attract lipstick a try, right now it's on sale you buy one for $9 and get another color for $1.99. I saw the ad with Reese Whitherspoon and she claimed she wore the color Passionate Red. I'm a little scared of bright red lipsticks but this one really knocked my socks off!
The lipstick color is so pretty, it comes wrapped in it's own clear gloss. It went on smooth and the red was very compatible with my skin tone. Being in the beauty industry for 20 years, I've learned a lot about color and what colors compliment or don't work together. THIS red color will pretty much match just about ANY skin tone. The feel of the lipstick was like butter on my lips. It lasted for a long time and my lips didn't peel. It doesn't even FEEL like I'm wearing lipstick so I often forget I have it on my lips.
I definitely recommend it and at these prices, it's like buying two for less than $5 each.

What exactly is Retinol?
Let's get nerdy for a minute and find out what Retinol is...
Basically in a nutshell, retinol is a vitamin that comes from animals. So, if you're not a vegetarian, you may want to reconsider putting animal forms of retinol on your skin.
It is a form of vitamin A, needed for health and vision. We all pretty much realize that some vitamins are antioxidants; vitamins that stop the oxidation processes that can lead to cancers.
What retinol does to the skin is cause the cells to turnover at a faster rate. Thus, if your skin and brain are "talking" about "we need new skin" because this retinol is turning over cells "faster," then you're body and brain together are going to create new skin. This new skin forms, old skin cells fall off, and thus you have the "appearance" of less fine lines. Although, to get deeper into skin tissue where DEEPER wrinkles occur, retinol may have very little impact.
Your skin has several layers and the epidermis is what you see in the mirror, thinly covering the dermis layer.
Be careful: retinol can make your skin extra sensitive to other creams, makeups and especially the sun!
