More than the usual 100 uses for Skin So Soft, You're Mamma said WHAT?!

We've heard secrets from the past where granny always claimed that the original formula Skin So Soft body oil and lotion kept away mosquitoes, gnats, and helped your third cousin's eczema and his wife's secret to her athletes foot infection (that was NOT on her feet...).
Well, the talk is true and there actually is some science behind it.
Skin So Soft now comes in several different "flavors", i.e. Soft and Sensual with argon oil, Age Defying with babasu oil and believe it or not it IS in the ingredients for the VERY EFFECTIVE bug repellent from Avon; an alternative to nasty deet chemicals.

When analyzing the original oil's ingredients (yes, you can STILL purchase the original Skin So Soft Oil), a few things became instantly highlighted:

  • Isoproplyl Palmitate: a derivative of Palmitic acid which naturally occurs in allspice  anise, forms 40% of cows milk.
  • Jojoba Oil: used for centuries as a moisturizer. Here is a picture of the plant.
Palmitic acid derived ingredients appear to be the linking ingredient between Avon's Bug Guard and Skin So Soft, which is in anise and allspice which we know from cooking these pungent ingredients in a pumpkin pie or love or  hate the taste or smell of black licorice, we know anise is very aromatic.

Skin So Soft is on sale and the size of the bottle should last you at least half a year for such a low penny price. If you're not into deterring bugs, like ticks that carry Lyme's Disease, then look at some of these other uses so many people in the world have found to use Skin So Soft For:
